Getting started: your student portal

New student? Here's how to get set up on the online portal, where you book lessons, buy lesson packages, pay, and access your music.

  • Reach out to Blake at blake@blakemcadamsmusic.com (or use the Contact Us link) to be added as a student.

  • You'll then receive an email invitation to the Student Portal — click the link in it to set your password.

  • Log in anytime using the "Student Login" button at the top of this site, or go to app.mymusicstaff.com.

  • From the portal you can view your lesson schedule, book or reschedule lessons (up to 24 hours ahead), buy lesson packages, pay online, and download your assigned sheet music.

  • Didn't get the invitation email? Check your spam folder, then email blake@blakemcadamsmusic.com and he'll resend it.

How far will Blake travel?

Throughout the greater Houston region. For events outside the metro area, a small travel fee may apply — just include the location when you book.

What are your rates?

Gigs start at $175, depending on length, type, and location. Private lessons are $35 for a 30-minute session, with package discounts available. Final gig pricing is confirmed after you share the details.

How do deposits and cancellations work?

A deposit reserves your gig date and is collected at booking. For lessons, please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours in advance; changes made within 24 hours forfeit that lesson.

Do you teach beginners?

Yes — students of all levels are welcome, on both bass and tenor trombone, in person or over video.

What do you need from me for a service or event?

The date, time, location, music or repertoire, and a contact for the day. You'll add these when you book or reach out.

Can you bring additional musicians?

Often, yes — for brass quintets, trombone choirs, or larger ensembles, Blake can help arrange additional players. Ask when you inquire.
